All students can eat in the university canteens (signposted “UniMensa”).
In Bozen-Bolzano Centre the UniMensa is located in Universitätsplatz - Piazza Università 1, on the ground floor next to the main entrance and the unibar.
In Bozen-Bolzano NOI Techpark the mensa is in the D2 building, on the third floor in Gianni-Brida-Straße,17 - via Gianni Brida,17.
In Brixen-Bressanone the UniMensa is located in the basement of the main university building in Regensburgerallee - viale Ratisbona 16.

From 24 September 2026, the new SmartEat Markas payment system is available. From 1 October 2026, SmartEat will completely replace the previous payment system and the Student Card can no longer be used to pay for meals.
To use the service, you will need your personal barcode. The cost of your meal will be deducted directly from your digital wallet.

Alternatively, you can access SmartEat from your PC or tablet via the SmartEat web portal.
You can top up your digital wallet using credit card, debit card or Satispay.
We recommend topping up your digital wallet before going to the canteen. The time it takes for the amount to be credited depends on your bank: the top-up may be almost immediate or, in some cases, may take a few days. If the credit is shown as “Pending” in the app, this means that the payment is still being processed and the amount is not yet available in your wallet. If, on the other hand, the amount is already available in your wallet, the top-up has been completed and the credit can be used.
Do you still have credit on your Student Card?
Any remaining balance not used by 1 October will be automatically transferred to the new system by 31 October. You do not need to request the transfer.
