For PhD students on a scholarship, the university pays monthly pension contributions to the Italian retirement system.

Please note that registration must be carried out in person to ensure that the social security contributions are linked to the Italian tax number.

Appointees are responsible for registering with the 'INPS Gestione Separata - Category: Parasubordinato' via this link (SPID or CIE required).

Registration can be completed from November of the first academic year onwards, and the INPS registration receipt must be emailed to personnel_academic@unibz.it and phdunibz@unibz.it.

If you are already enrolled in the “Gestione Separata INPS”, simply log in with your PIN or SPID and print out a document proving your enrolment.

Foreign students without an Italian identity card but with a Italian Individual Tax Code (in Italian:“Codice Fiscale”)

1. Register with INPS on the following webpage: INPS - Richiesta PIN to obtain your PIN (personal code). This is necessary to access INPS services.
2. The 'Domanda di iscrizione alla Gestione Separata INPS' (registration request) can only be processed following this process.
