Many students and graduates aspire to an internship or career in the field of the European Union. However, it is not always easy to find one’s way around and find the right path to one’s goal.
To learn more about working in these areas and the opportunities available for students, graduates, and young professionals, the fourth series of monthly online meetings dedicated to various professional profiles will continue in April. Guests will share insight into their daily work, the educational and professional journey that led them to Brussels, and offer first-hand advice.
Our next guest for the semester is Maria Guerra – Consultant at Magellan Circle, Brussels
Maria Guerra is a Portuguese professional based in Brussels, currently working as a Consultant at Magellan Circle, a European affairs consultancy specialising in EU policy, advocacy, institutional relations and project management.
In her current role, she supports public and private organisations in navigating the European institutional landscape, developing their engagement with EU institutions and identifying European funding opportunities. Her work involves monitoring EU policy developments, coordinating high-level institutional meetings and events, and facilitating dialogue between stakeholders and European policymakers.
Before joining Magellan Circle, Maria gained experience at the European Committee of the Regions, where she supported the office of its then President, Vasco Alves Cordeiro, as well as at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Defence. These experiences allowed her to develop a broad understanding of diplomacy, European policymaking and international cooperation.
Maria holds degrees in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Coimbra and Sciences Po Bordeaux, including Master's degrees in Peace, Security and Development Studies and International Politics, respectively. She has also undertaken specialised training in security, defence and crisis management at the Portuguese National Defence Institute.
Her professional journey reflects a longstanding interest in European affairs, diplomacy and the relationship between political decision-making and its practical implementation.
The event will be held in English and is open to unibz students, PhDs, alumni and professors.
